Did you know that there is a legal mechanism to evict and remove squatters from your rental property?

Many property owners believe they can simply summon the police to remove squatters. The reality is, police routinely refuse to intervene because these issues are civil matters. But this does not mean that property owners are without any recourse.
In California, property owners can pursue forcible detainer actions in order to evict squatters and regain possession of their rental property. A forcible detainer is similar to an unlawful detainer, but it is used when squatters gain access to the property through forcible means, such as picking locks, breaking doors, and damaging windows.
The good news is that forcible detainer actions are a powerful method to quickly remove these unwanted squatters and help you regain possession and control of your rental property.
If you have any questions regarding squatters in your property and want to get them out, please feel free to give our office a call. We’ll be more than happy to help.
